Today’s match between Pakistan U19 and New Zealand U19 was played at the Harare Sports Club in Zimbabwe.
Pakistan won the toss and decided to bowl first.For New Zealand, the two openers were Marco Alpe and Hugo Bogue, while Ali Raza opened the bowling for Pakistan. Ali Raza’s first over went for only 2 runs.
In the next over, Seyam came to bowl and conceded 9 runs in his first over Ali Raza returned for his second over and took the LBW wicket of Alpe on his second ball. Then Tom Jones came to bat. Ali Raza was bowling very well but gave away a boundary on his last two balls Bogue and Jones then built a 50+ partnership together. However, on the fifth ball of the 7th over, Hugo Bogue was caught out after scoring 39 runs.
Next, Snehith Reddy came in to bat for New Zealand. Pakistan’s other bowler, Subhan, didn’t let Jones stay long and dismissed him on the third ball of his first over.Then Jacob Cotter came to bat, but Ali Raza soon took Reddy’s wicket as well. None of the New Zealand batters could stay at the crease for long.
Thanks to Pakistan’s excellent bowling, New Zealand were all out for just 111 runs.
For Pakistan’s batting, Hamza and Sameer opened the innings. Clark dismissed Hamza early for 8 runs. Then Usman came to the crease, and together Sameer and Usman formed a strong partnership, taking Pakistan close to the target.After Usman got caught out, Farhan came in and finished the remaining runs.
The top scorer of the match was Sameer, who scored 76 runs off just 59 balls. In terms of bowling, Pakistan’s bowlers performed brilliantly, dominating throughout the match.
